Meet Janice Goldman. She’s a local financial advisor and author.
She’s coming out with a book called Let’s Talk about Money: The Girlfriend’s Guide to Protecting your ASSets.
The book is not your usual female financial book teaching on budgets and how to get out of debt. Instead, it provides women with the insight and information they need to feel confident and empowered to have financial discussions with everyone from partners to employers to parents. Here are some of the top money mistakes women make:

  1. Not knowing they’re responsible for their spouse’s financial decisions/mistakes.
  2. Accepting the first salary offer without negotiation.
  3. Waiting until they’re in their 30s or 40s or later to start saving for retirement.
  4. Putting their kids’ students loans in their name, and single mother guilt
  5. Fearing they might be perceived as greedy if they ask to play an active role in their parents’ estate.
