To celebrate their new groundbreaking series ONE STRANGE ROCK (from producer Darren Aronofsky and hosted by Will Smith), National Geographic has created a one-of-a-kind Immersive Space Projection Helmet. This new wearable technology allows users to experience an astronaut’s view of Earth using footage from ONE STRANGE ROCK.

The content played during the experience has been distorted to fit the curvature of the interior screen of the helmet, providing a wide field of view. And unlike standard VR headsets, users can freely move their heads inside the dome to look around the entire field of vision, just like an astronaut would while wearing their helmet in space.

The Space Projection Helmets are currently touring the country and will be in Chicago for one day only on:

Friday, April 27
11am – 3pm
The Adler Planetarium
1300 S. Lakeshore Drive
Room of Requirement, 2nd Floor

The One Strange Rock helmet experience will be held in the The Room of Requirement located on the 2nd level of the Planetarium. Admission is free to the public on a first-come, first serve basis.
