CHICAGO, May 26, 2016—The Foundation of Artists Mentored in Entertainment (F.A.M.E.) 501(C) (3) will be hosting its fifth annual “An Evening of F.A.M.E” event on June 25, 2016 at the Merit School of Music, 38 South Peoria Street, Chicago IL, 60607, in Gottlieb Hall from 6 to 9 p.m. “An Evening of F.A.M.E” is a yearly fundraising talent competition and silent auction that provides under-resourced Chicagoland performing artists, scholarships in pursuit of advancement in the entertainment industry. In addition to industry mentorship leading up to the event, F.A.M.E. gives finalists the opportunity to perform for participating celebrity judges including, Robin Robinson, respected journalist and award winning television anchor, and Malik Yusef, famed producer/songwriter and 12 time Grammy Award nominee.
“Too many amazing artists fall by the wayside because of their financial hardships and are never given the opportunity to share their unique stories with the world, states Lily Liu, founder and president of Lily Talent Agency and creator of F.A.M.E., “ F.A.M.E. has allowed young artists the opportunity to impact the artistic community and continue to live out their dreams.”
Jacqueline Saland, local model and actress, will be the Master of Ceremony for the event, and participants will have the opportunity to receive feedback from a panel of five celebrity guest judges.
Joining Robin Robinson, Chicago native, producer, six time local Emmy Award television anchor, member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and Malik Yusef, Six time American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), five time Grammy, Emmy, Peabody, and Tony award winning song- writer and producer, as judges will be; Paige Fraser, Alvin Alley alumni and founding member of Visceral Dance Chicago contemporary dance company, featured dancer in the 2016 Intel campaign/commercial “Experience Amazing,” and appearances in Beyonce’s “Bow Down” 2013 tour opener and V Magazine with fashion icon, Chanel Iman; Marisa Bucheit, Winner of Miss Illinois 2014, co-founder of Tres Belle, an operatic soprano trio, and featured performer for the Peoria Symphony, and the Elgin Symphony.
The event will also include a cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres and a performance from local magician, Jimmy Chung.
