I had a phenomenal time playing wiffle ball at Wrigley Field this weekend as part of Kerry Wood’s Celebrity Wiffle Ball Tournament! Kerry Wood and his wife Sarah hosted a little gathering at Paris Club Friday evening which I attended with Producer Mary. We mingled with some of the media personalities like Sarah Spain who would also be playing the next day.
Saturday, J Niice and I started the day off by getting our uniforms. After changing, we ate some food and enjoyed some beverages with some of the other celebs like Lee DeWyze and George Wendt. You can see all the celebs who were there in my entire photo album HERE! The best part was everyone dressed in the uniforms even though they were way too big for most of us.
Around 5pm we were all escorted to the field and watched some of the celebs participate in the Home Run Derby. Finally around 7pm we were divided into our teams (blue and red) and given our positions by our captains. Captain of my team was Bill Murray who was hysterical! You can see some of him coaching in my video below…
He had me on defense when the game first started, but I managed to convince him to let me bat once 🙂 I was just happy to make contact with the ball!
There was even a seventh inning stretch sung by Jim Cornelison. After he sang I took a second to enjoy the view from down on the field. It was pretty surreal and gorgeous as the sun was setting.
In the end my team lost when the blue team hit a walk off home run! I was slightly disappointed, but was soon cheered up as Gatorade was poured over Kerry Wood.
The after party was at John Barleycorn in Wrigleyville. I ate my face off there, had a few drinks and then headed to the Taylor Swift concert. I heard I missed some wild dancing at Barleycorn. Hopefully I’ll be able to get in on that fun next year.
