If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, check out some of my picks below!
Believe it or not February already starts this weekend and Sunday of course is the day of the Big Game. No matter who you’re rooting for, either the Seahawks or the Broncos, you can find somewhere to enjoy the matchup this weekend. Bars and restaurants from the South Loop to Streeterville will have specials during the game. You might want to try Howells and Hood at the Tribune Tower. They’re having a chili cook-off featuring the work of six local chefs. You can then vote for your favorite while watching the game. See more events HERE.
Chinese New Year starts this weekend and it’s the year of the Horse. Celebrate at Navy Pier’s Grand Ballroom with the Redmoon Theater starting at 6pm. It’ll be chilly but you can still enjoy a view of the fireworks display that will take place and the performances by Chicago-based Chinese cultural partners. Bloomingdales and the Shops at North Bridge on Michigan Ave will be partaking in the fun as well featuring special pop up shops and promotions. There’s also parades you can experience this weekend as well. See everything HERE.
If you haven’t been ice skating yet this season at Millennium Park, this weekend might be the time to go. Experience the rink as a beautiful canvas of colors and shades to ring in the Chinese New Year. As you skate the rink will transform into shades of red, blue, green, yellow and magenta.
Save some room this weekend for the 7th Annual Chicago Restaurant Week! Enjoy top cuisine for reasonable prices at more than 300 restaurants throughout the city and the surrounding suburbs. The festival, which lasts through Feb. 6th, will feature prix fixe menus starting at $22 for lunch and $33 for dinner. All different restaurants from all over the city participate.
