Some of the hottest stars from shows including “Chicago Fire” and “Empire” were on hand to help in the battle against breast cancer at one of the premier events in Chicago. “Chicago Fire” actresses Miranda Rae Mayo (Stella Kidd – Taylor Kinney’s on-screen girlfriend) and Annie Ilonzeh (Emily Foster), joined Komen Chicago at their 21st annual gala – The Greatest Show Under the Big Pink Top – on Saturday, October 27 at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios. Andre Royo (Thirsty” – Luscious Lyon’s right hand) from “Empire” also attended in support of this incredible cause.
Susan G. Komen Chicago’s has succeeded in raising over $600,000 during this year’s Breast Cancer Action Month thanks in large part to their 2018 gala and gala corporate honorees Jewel-Osco and Rivers Casino who each held special campaigns this month. The month culminated on Saturday, October 27, with a one-of-a-kind, circus-themed Gala – the Greatest Show Under the Big Pink Top – to celebrate life and Komen’s 21-year commitment to combating breast cancer in local communities and funding life-saving breakthrough research.
The incredible evening was held at the famed Cinespace Chicago Film Studios – where shows like “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago PD,” “Empire” and “Shameless” are filmed. Guests enjoyed exceptional circus acts from high-flying trapeze artists to contortionists, as well as captivating live entertainment from Top 100 Billboard artist Tara Macri and John Vincent.
I also attended the gala and you can see some of my photos below!
