Wish Upon A Wedding, a 501(c)(3) granting weddings and vow renewals to couples facing serious illness or life-altering health circumstances, is holding its first designer wedding dress sale open to the public April 29 and 30 at The Lakewood at Paramount Events in Chicago.
Approximately 1,000 wedding dresses including 200 new dresses from BHLDN, Anthropologies’ designer wedding dress line, are for sale. All dresses have been donated to Wish Upon a Wedding from former brides and bridal boutiques across the country. Wedding dresses range in price from $150 to $1500 in sizes 0-24.
Previously worn wedding dresses have been professionally cleaned and properly stored, and many have never been worn. Some designers represented in the sale are BHLDN, Vera Wang, Pnina Tornai, Maggie Sottero, Hayley Paige, and Eve of Milady, among many others.
“This is the first time we’re holding a wedding dress dash where brides from near and far have the opportunity to choose from hundreds of designer dresses for an extreme discount,” said Wish Upon A Wedding National Board President, Alison Phillips. “This organization survives on donations and volunteers. Approximately 75 percent of earnings from the dress dash will go toward future wedding wishes.”
